Bordering Colorado Springs, Colorado on the north end of town, Black Forest encompasses more than 200,000 acres. Black Forest covers the area from Eastonville Rd to Highway 83 on the East and West, and County Line Rd. to Woodmen Rd. on the North and South. Black Forest is very heavily wooded with open grassland areas. Black forest was named by a German Immigrant who said that the dark hue of the Ponderosa Pines resembled 'The Black Forest' in Germany.
