A Little about Woodland Park

A bedroom community just 18 miles west of Colorado Springs, Woodland Park is at about 8500' above sea level. Beautiful views of the back of Pikes Peak set off this historic mountain town's main street.  It is affectionately known as the City Above the Clouds.  Woodland Park began as a resort town and in 1891 was incorporated.  At that point in time the primary business was saw milling.  There is still one active mill, Casey's Lumber, off of 67 N.  Today the population tops 8,000 residents.  Tourism is an essential component to the local economy.  In recent years Charis Bible College has located in Woodland Park and helped fuel the economy and the housing market.
